What are the examples of personification
Personification gives human qualities or actions to something nonhuman. It can make a scene vivid by presenting an object, an animal, or an abstract idea as if it could behave like a person. The effect depends on the particular image.
Meaning and context
Ask whether the sentence attributes a distinctly human behavior or experience. A river moves literally, so movement alone is not necessarily personification. A river arguing with the rocks gives it a human activity and creates a more clearly figurative description.
Examples and usage
The examples The deadline stared at me, The shutters complained in the wind, and Hope knocked at the door are original illustrations. A deadline cannot stare, shutters cannot complain, and hope cannot knock. Each sentence turns an idea or object into an imagined actor.

What to check
Do not label every vivid description personification. A simile compares things, while a metaphor can equate them without necessarily supplying a human trait. In analysis, identify the specific human quality and explain what it adds to the scene.
